About Henry Benson
The impressionist movement is based on the wisdom of light, nature, and urban planning. The movement of the late 1800’s was transcendental in the art world’s scope of brilliant technique. Henry Benson, missing the surge of Impressionism in Europe, re-illuminates its magic through his pointillist paintings of mostly New York City and France. Benson studied art in Paris and experienced the humble beginnings of any artist. He transformed into a renowned artist of the 1970’s and 80’s though, as George Steinbrenner and Billy Martin became collectors of his pieces. Benson's art is a journey of light and sharp detail— of impossibility and blatant truth. Goghvan Galleries has accumulated a collection of his artwork that you can view in our portfolio. We suspect him to be valued exponentially greater with each coming year.
About the Gallery
Lilly Grossman
Student
Lilly is a student at Riverdale Country School in the Bronx, New York. She decided to initiate this project because she had come across a multitude of fairly cheap artwork in her grandfather's attick, and effectively became enthralled by how we, as a society, choose to value art or beauty. She was later prompted to explore Art History (specifically the impressionist movement) further, and has recently taken Art History classes at the University of Siena over the summer of 2023, and works on her schools art magazine. She hopes to bring light to artists whose worth exceeds its value, and how we can develop a sense of agency in interpreting artwork.
